My Messinia

Ephemeris XXIII and Barlas sculpture garden

SAMSUNG CSCSAMSUNG CSCThere are some places in Messinia, which are microcosms- unique worlds…with their distinct textures, colors and forms…one of them is the Barlas beach…for me the Barlas sculpture sea garden…

The ever changing scenery with the light which makes the volcanic rocks shine differently each time with hues of brown, grey, yellow, gold…the sea which brings the sand and makes it a beach and then takes it away at its will and the waters which turn from turquoise and emerald green to deep dark blue.

The beach is frequented mostly by local families with small children as the shallow shore waters and absence of sea currents make it safe to swim…there is also another treasure in this sea garden…a secluded cave with a small beach…SAMSUNG CSCSAMSUNG CSCSAMSUNG CSCSAMSUNG CSCSAMSUNG CSCIt is a great place for breaking the waves and for sunset watch as the sun meets the island of Proti at the horizon and this encounter is always spectacular…even more so during the autumn days such as today. So at his time of the year “Barlas” with its artful natural display, warm waters and deserted beach turns from a romantic to a memorable ultra romantic place.SAMSUNG CSCSAMSUNG CSCSAMSUNG CSCSAMSUNG CSC This magical spot is located close to the fishing village of Marathopolis in the area of Dialiskari…SAMSUNG CSCSAMSUNG CSC
