Gargalianoi is named the balcony of Messinia as it soars over the olive tree valley on an abrupt mount.
So here I am standing on this very lovely balcony deliberately stuck in traffic….something I was wishing for all winter long.
There is just so much to observe, especially on a day like this one…rainless and therefore good for harvesting…when the traffic grows dense in the afternoon with producers taking their crop to olive mills.
Some were taking a break and conversing……some alone with a small load…
…some doing acrobatics…
…some looking for their owner
some in christmas mood…
…some loaded with sacks of olives and one reclining friend…
…and then these same ones leaving the olives and the friend behind…and smoking a well deserved cigarette
…some with supplies
…some with people
…some heading towards Gargalianoi to another olive mill…
…and some taking the result of the all this commotion far away from Gargalianoi and the olive tree valley…to unknown lands…
